  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Use panko for extra crunch or gluten-free breadcrumbs if needed.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Adds flavor to the meatloaf.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese For the cheesy center; you can substitute with another favorite cheese.
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley Elevates the dish's flavor and appearance.
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion Adds moisture and sweetness.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced For additional flavor.
  • 2 large eggs Binding ingredient.
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Topping

  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce For topping the meatloaf.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, parsley, onion, garlic, eggs, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.
  • Shape half of the meat mixture into a loaf shape on a baking sheet. Create a well in the center and fill it with more mozzarella cheese. Top with the remaining meat mixture, shaping it around the cheese.
  • Spread marinara sauce on top of the meatloaf.

Baking

  • Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

Serving

  • Let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes after baking before slicing.
  • Slice carefully and consider drizzling extra marinara sauce over each slice before serving.

Notes

Store leftover meatloaf in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator or freeze after cooking. For best results, let it rest before slicing.
