  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon Can be substituted with apple cider or omitted.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Use tamari for gluten-free.
  • 2 tablespoons honey Can be replaced with agave syrup or maple syrup for vegan option.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (e.g., bell peppers, broccoli, snap peas)
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • Green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine bourbon, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Whisk until well combined.
  • Let the sauce sit for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Cooking

  • Heat a large pan over medium-high heat and add the chicken pieces. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned and cooked through, around 6-7 minutes.
  • Add the mixed vegetables to the pan after the chicken is cooked. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.
  • Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and vegetables. Stir well to coat.
  • Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Serving

  • Serve the stir-fry over cooked rice or with extra veggies. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in a skillet or microwave.
