Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs

  • 1 lb Ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs Panko can be used for crunchier texture.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated Pecorino Romano or nutritional yeast can be used as alternatives.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Fresh garlic enhances flavor.
  • 1 large Egg Binds the meatball mixture.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley, chopped Adds freshness.
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil For browning the meatballs.

For the Sauce

  • 2 cups Tomato sauce Quality jarred sauce works well.

For the Spaghetti

  • 12 oz Spaghetti Cook according to package instructions.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Spaghetti

  • Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente (about 8-10 minutes).
  • Reserve a cup of the pasta cooking water before draining.

Preparing the Meatball Mixture

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix until well combined but do not overmix.

Shaping the Meatballs

  • Wet your hands to prevent sticking and shape the mixture into walnut-sized meatballs (about 1 inch in diameter).

Browning the Meatballs

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add meatballs in batches and cook until browned on all sides (about 5-7 minutes).

Simmering in Tomato Sauce

  • Once the meatballs are browned, pour in the tomato sauce and gently stir to combine. Cover and let simmer for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.

Serving

  • Serve the meatballs on top of the cooked spaghetti and garnish with extra parsley if desired.
  • A sprinkle of extra Parmesan cheese adds a delicious finishing touch.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For freezing, use freezer-safe bags and thaw overnight before reheating.
