  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 1 large egg crack separately to avoid shell pieces.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon almond extract
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together.
  • In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  • Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
  • Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet.

Baking

  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven.
  • Cool on wire racks before decorating.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to one week. For freezing, place in a single layer, then in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for a few seconds.
