Brownie Base Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Use unsalted butter for better salt control; can substitute with salted butter, omitting extra salt.
  • 2 cups granulated sugar Can substitute with brown sugar for a caramel flavor.
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour For a gluten-free version, substitute with a gluten-free flour blend.
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Unsweetened provides a rich chocolate flavor; sweetened may alter the sweetness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Reserve some to sprinkle on top before baking.

S'mores Topping Ingredients

  • 1 cup mini marshmallows Press down slightly during baking to prevent floating.
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan. Optionally, line the pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  • Add flour, cocoa powder, and salt to the butter mixture, mixing until smooth.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips into the brownie batter.
  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle a layer of graham cracker crumbs, followed by mini marshmallows, then pour the remaining brownie batter on top.

Baking

  • Place the pan in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

To keep brownies fresh, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week. They can be frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds or at 350°F for 5-10 minutes.
