  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Use unsalted butter for better control over salt content.
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter Creamy peanut butter is best for a smooth batter.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs Add eggs one at a time for better incorporation.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour For gluten-free, substitute with a gluten-free blend.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Ensures proper rising of the cookies.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Omit if using salted butter.
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate Reserve some for decoration if desired.
  • 1/2 cup chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups Optional ingredient for extra peanut butter flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and peanut butter until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar, and beat until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract until just combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped Reese’s, if using.
  • Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake for 9–11 minutes or until edges are set and centers are still soft.
  • Let cookies cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Storage: Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 week, or freeze layered with parchment paper for longer storage.
