Brownie Base

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs Use room temperature for better mixing.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder For a different flavor, try Dutch-processed cocoa.
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour For a healthier option, substitute half with whole wheat flour.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Mix-Ins

  • 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter Warm slightly to drizzle easily.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate Semi-sweet, dark, or milk chocolate can be used based on preference.
  • 1 cup chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups Feel free to add more for extra flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C).
  • Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Melt the unsalted butter completely in a saucepan or microwave.
  • Stir in both granulated and brown sugar into the melted butter until smooth.
  • Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract until glossy and thick.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Gently warm the peanut butter in the microwave for 15–20 seconds.
  • Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, drizzle warmed peanut butter, then top with remaining batter.
  • Sprinkle chopped Reese’s and chocolate chips on top.

Baking

  • Bake for 22–28 minutes until edges are set but the center is slightly soft.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before slicing.

Notes

For best results, avoid overmixing the batter, use room temperature ingredients, and allow to cool before cutting. Can be served with milk, ice cream, or coffee.
