Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken tenders
  • 1 cup buttermilk Can substitute with milk mixed with vinegar or lemon juice.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Consider using gluten-free flour if needed.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying Vegetable, canola, or peanut oil recommended.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken tenders in a bowl and cover them with buttermilk. Marinate for at least 1 hour, or ideally overnight.
  • Prepare the Coating: In a shallow bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, pour in enough oil for frying and heat it over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (180°C).
  • Dredge the Chicken: Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, shaking off the excess. Dredge each tender in the flour mixture until fully coated.
  • Fry the Tenders: Carefully place the coated chicken tenders in the hot oil. Fry for about 4-6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Drain and Serve: Once cooked, remove the tenders from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Notes

Serve hot with your favorite dips and pair with coleslaw or crispy fries for a perfect meal. Can be stored for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or frozen for up to 3 months.
