A fun and delicious dinner idea with crispy taco shells filled with seasoned ground beef and melty cheese, topped with fresh vegetables.

  • 12 pieces Hard taco shells Soft tortillas can also be used.
  • 1 pound Ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1 packet Taco seasoning Homemade option available with chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • 2 cups Shredded cheese Mix different types for flavor.
  • 1 cup Refried beans Optional, warm before spreading.
  • 1 cup Lettuce For garnish.
  • 1 cup Diced tomatoes For garnish.
  • 1 cup Sour cream For serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked; drain excess fat.
  • Stir in taco seasoning and cook according to package instructions.
  • If using, spread refried beans at the bottom of each taco shell.
  • Fill each taco shell with the seasoned beef and sprinkle generously with shredded cheese.
  • Arrange the filled taco shells upright in a baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and garnish with lettuce and diced tomatoes.
  • Serve immediately with sour cream on the side.

Notes

Consider a taco bar setup for customization. Use colorful plates for presentation. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
