  • 8 oz pasta (your choice) Any pasta shape such as penne or rotini.
  • 1 lb sausage (Italian or your preferred type) Can be substituted with chicken, turkey, or plant-based sausage.
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella) Experiment with other cheeses like gouda or pepper jack.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Preparation

  • In a large pot, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the sausage to the pot and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
  • Stir in the pasta, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, mixing gently.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 10-12 minutes until the pasta is tender.
  • Stir in the shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
  • Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, use fresh ingredients. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in a saucepan with a splash of milk.
