Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free 1:1 flour blend.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast Active dry yeast can be used but requires activation.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup milk Warm to lukewarm temperature.
  • 1/4 cup water Warm to lukewarm temperature.
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 each egg, beaten For egg wash.

Filling

  • 1/2 cup Nutella Can be substituted with other spreads like peanut butter.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, warm the milk and water, then mix in the melted butter.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients until a sticky dough forms.
  • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Assembly

  • Once risen, turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll it into a rectangle.
  • Spread Nutella evenly on top of the dough, leaving a small border.
  • Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other and cut into equal pieces (about 1.5 inches thick).
  • Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet and brush the tops with the beaten egg.

Baking

  • Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let the rolls cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For serving, these rolls are best served warm. Dust with powdered sugar, and pair with coffee or ice cream for extra indulgence. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
