  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts You can use thighs for a richer flavor.
  • 1 oz ranch dressing mix Can be made from scratch with herbs and buttermilk powder.
  • 1 oz au jus gravy mix
  • 12 oz pepperoncini peppers (with juice) Substitute with banana peppers for a milder flavor.
  • 1 stick unsalted butter Cut into chunks for quicker melting.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix evenly over the chicken.
  • Pour the whole jar of pepperoncini (including the juice) over the seasoned chicken.
  • Place the stick of butter on top of everything.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed veggies. Perfect for weeknight dinners and game day sandwiches. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
