  • 1 piece bone-in ham Specified cut is important for flavor and moisture. A boneless ham can be used, but texture may differ.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Adds sweetness and a caramel-like flavor. Substitute with white sugar mixed with molasses if needed.
  • 1 cup pineapple juice Provides tanginess. Can substitute with apple juice or other fruit juice, but flavor will change.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves

Preparation

  • Place the ham in the Instant Pot ensuring it's fully positioned within the pot for even cooking.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the brown sugar, pineapple juice, and ground cloves. Mix until you achieve a smooth, thick glaze.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the ham, ensuring it's well-coated.
  • Seal the Instant Pot lid and set it to cook on high pressure for 15 minutes per pound of ham.
  • Once cooking is complete, let the pressure release naturally for about 15 minutes.
  • Carefully remove the ham from the Instant Pot and let it rest on a cutting board for about 10-15 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve the ham with some of the leftover glaze drizzled on top.

Notes

Consider garnishing your ham with fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme, and serve with side dishes like mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or freeze them tightly wrapped for up to 3 months.
