  • 1 pound ground sausage Use spicy or mild based on preference.
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese You can mix with other cheeses like Monterey Jack.
  • 2 cups baking mix Bisquick or gluten-free baking mix can be used.
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, baking mix, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  • Roll the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, consider adding spices like crushed red pepper or fine diced vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven.
