Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 1.5 lbs chicken tenders or chicken breasts, sliced into strips Chicken tenders preferred for tenderness.

For the Honey Mustard Sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey Natural sweetness that caramelizes while baking.
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard Adds tanginess; can substitute with yellow mustard.
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard Can substitute Dijon if needed.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Optional Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise or Greek yogurt For added creaminess.
  • 1/4 cup panko or breadcrumbs For extra crunch; use panko for lighter texture.
  • pinch cayenne or red pepper flakes For a spicy kick.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Pat the chicken strips dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, yellow mustard, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Add the chicken strips to the bowl and toss to coat evenly.
  • If using, sprinkle in panko or breadcrumbs and toss to coat.
  • Arrange the chicken strips in a single layer on the baking tray without overlapping.

Cooking

  • Bake for 18-22 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Check that the internal temperature has reached 165°F (74°C).
  • Let the chicken strips rest for about 2 minutes before serving.

Serving

  • Serve with your favorite sides and additional dipping sauce.

Notes

For extra flavor, brush some honey mustard on top after baking. Pair with fries, salad, or your favorite dipping sauce.
