Cake Base

  • 1 box yellow cake mix This is the primary base of our poke cake.
  • 1 cup milk Whole milk is ideal for richness; alternatives like low-fat or almond milk work too.
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Peach Topping

  • 2 cups frozen peaches, thawed Fresh peaches can be used during peach season.
  • 3/4 cup sugar For mixing with the soaking liquid.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Sprinkled on top for flavor.
  • 1 cup whipped topping For serving.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare the yellow cake mix according to the package instructions and bake it in a 9x13 inch cake pan.
  • Let the cake cool for about 10-15 minutes after baking.
  • Poke holes all over the top of the cake with a fork.
  • In a bowl, mix the melted butter, sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Pour this mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in.
  • Spread the thawed peaches evenly over the cake.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon on top.
  • Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours before serving.
  • Serve chilled with whipped topping.

Notes

Cake stays fresh stored in an airtight container for up to 3-5 days. You can freeze leftovers, wrapping tightly in plastic wrap. Best enjoyed chilled.
