  • 1/2 cup olive oil Base of dressing; can substitute with avocado or sunflower oil.
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar Adds tanginess; can be substituted with white wine or apple cider vinegar.
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard Helps emulsify; can substitute with honey mustard or omit.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • to taste Salt Adjust to preference.
  • to taste Pepper Adjust to preference.

Preparation

  • Gather your ingredients and tools. You’ll need a jar with a lid.
  • Combine all ingredients in the jar: olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and basil.
  • Shake the jar vigorously until everything is well combined and slightly thickened.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as desired and shake again.
  • Serve immediately or store in the fridge for later.

Notes

This dressing stays fresh in the refrigerator for up to a week. Shake before using as ingredients may separate. For a spicy version, add crushed red pepper flakes.
