  • 2 cups broccoli florets For a different taste, swap with snap peas or bell peppers.
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce Can substitute with tamari or coconut aminos for a soy-free version.
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce Essential for umami flavor; see soy sauce notes for alternatives.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For cooking; can use other oils as preferred.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Steps

  • In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Place the ground beef in the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Once the beef is browned, add the minced garlic and ginger, stirring for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the broccoli florets into the skillet and mix well, cooking for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
  • Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce, mixing thoroughly, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed, then serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat on the stove adding a splash of water if needed.
