For the Brownies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

For the Eggnog Buttercream

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 0.25 cup eggnog Can replace with almond milk or coconut milk for a non-dairy option
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat and let it cool slightly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, spices, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow brownies to cool in the pan.

Frosting

  • Cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar, then add the eggnog, vanilla, and nutmeg until smooth.
  • Spread the eggnog buttercream over the cooled brownies.

Notes

For a festive touch, garnish with a sprinkle of nutmeg or a drizzle of caramel.
