  • 4 fillets cod fillets You can substitute with other white fish like haddock or tilapia.
  • 4 tablespoons butter Unsalted butter is recommended for better salt control.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic preferred, but pre-minced or garlic powder can be used.
  • 1 unit lemon, juiced For extra flavor, consider adding lemon zest.
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • for garnish Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Season the cod fillets with salt and pepper.
  • Place cod fillets in the skillet, and spoon garlic butter over them.
  • Squeeze lemon juice over the fish.
  • Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.

Notes

For a spicy version, add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter. Leftover cod can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days in the refrigerator or frozen for up to 2 months.
