  • 2 slices slices of bread Thicker slices like brioche or challah are recommended.
  • 2 large eggs Fresh eggs yield the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup milk Can substitute with almond milk or non-dairy alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.
  • 1 piece fried chicken breast Leftover fried chicken can be used.
  • to taste Maple syrup For drizzling on top.
  • Butter for cooking Use as needed for skillet.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook the coated bread slices until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  • Place the fried chicken breast between the slices of French toast.
  • Drizzle with maple syrup before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Can be frozen for up to a month. For reheating, use a skillet or toaster oven.
