  • 12 pieces Slider buns Traditional slider buns preferred, can substitute with Hawaiian or whole wheat buns.
  • 1 pound Sliced roast beef Pre-packaged or homemade for best flavor.
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese Can substitute with other cheese varieties.
  • 2 cups Beef broth Use low-sodium or homemade for more flavor.
  • 1 large Onion Optional, can sauté for added flavor.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Optional, can sauté for added flavor.
  • 4 tablespoons Butter For sautéing or buttering buns.
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard Optional for added zing.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Slice the slider buns in half and arrange the bottom halves in a baking dish.
  • Layer sliced roast beef on the bottom halves followed by Swiss cheese.
  • Sauté onions and garlic in butter until soft, and add atop the roast beef if using.
  • Spread Dijon mustard on the top halves of the buns if desired.
  • Place the top halves of the buns over the fillings.
  • Heat beef broth in a saucepan and season with salt and pepper.
  • Pour the warm broth over the assembled sliders.
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for about 15 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted.
  • Serve warm with extra broth for dipping.

Notes

Create a dipping station with herbs and spices for broth customization. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
