Ingredients
  

Pasta

  • 12 pieces lasagna noodles Regular or no-boil noodles can be used.

Meat

  • 1 pound ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey/chicken for lighter option.

Cheese

  • 2 cups ricotta cheese Cottage cheese or vegan cream cheese can be used as alternatives.
  • 4 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded Use good quality cheese for best flavor.
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese For topping.

Sauce and Seasonings

  • 2 cups marinara sauce Store-bought or homemade can be used.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked and drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the marinara sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and season with salt and pepper. Let simmer for about 5-10 minutes.

Assembly

  • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • Layer 4 lasagna noodles on top, followed by half of the ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, and a third of the meat sauce.
  • Repeat the layers: 4 noodles, remaining ricotta, remaining mozzarella, and half of the remaining meat sauce.
  • Finish with a last layer of noodles followed by the remaining meat sauce and cheese topping with Parmesan.
  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  • Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Storage: Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3-5 days, freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for about 30-40 minutes.
