Base Ingredients

  • 8 cups milk Use whole, skim, almond, coconut, or oat milk.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can be substituted with additional milk or half-and-half.
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk Adjust for desired sweetness.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Semi-sweet is traditional; can use dark or milk chocolate.
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Toppings

  • Marshmallows For topping.
  • S'mores ingredients: graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows Optional for gourmet topping.

Preparation

  • In your crock pot, combine the milk, heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and vanilla extract. Stir well until evenly mixed.
  • Cover and cook on low for about 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Once the mixture is hot and the chocolate is melted, serve in mugs.
  • Top with marshmallows and S'mores ingredients as desired.

Notes

For added flavor, toast the marshmallows over an open flame before topping your hot chocolate. Perfect for cozy movie nights or gatherings.
