  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Use high-quality cheese for best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup melted butter Grease the dish for easy cleanup later.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the frozen hash browns, pimento cheese, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, diced onions, diced bell peppers, melted butter, salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is well combined.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish, spreading it evenly.

Baking

  • Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
  • Check halfway through to ensure it’s baking evenly; rotate the dish if necessary.
  • Once done, allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with a dollop of sour cream or green onions on top. Leftovers can be refrigerated or frozen for later.
