  • 12 pieces jumbo pasta shells Use large shells for easy stuffing.
  • 1 cup cottage cheese Can be substituted with non-fat cottage cheese or Greek yogurt.
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese Can substitute with cream cheese or goat cheese.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese More cheese adds to the gooey texture.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 piece egg Helps bind the ingredients.
  • 2 cups marinara sauce Store-bought or homemade.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste none Salt and pepper
  • to taste none Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Boil the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and let cool.
  • In a bowl, mix together cottage cheese, ricotta, half of mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Stuff cheese mixture into each pasta shell.
  • Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce in a baking dish, place stuffed shells, and cover with remaining sauce.
  • Top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

To store leftovers, keep in an airtight container for up to 3-5 days. You can freeze before or after baking.
