  • 12 pieces Wonton wrappers Essential for crispy texture; can substitute with egg roll wrappers if necessary.
  • 2 cups Cooked chicken, shredded Rotisserie chicken works well or can be replaced with tofu for a vegetarian option.
  • 8 oz Cream cheese Adds richness; substitute with vegan cream cheese for a dairy-free option.
  • 4 tablespoons Green onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 2 cups Cabbage, shredded
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro, chopped

Preparation

  • Mix the filling by combining the shredded chicken, cream cheese, green onions, soy sauce, and garlic powder in a bowl.
  • Take a wonton wrapper and place about a tablespoon of the chicken mixture in the center.
  • Fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle, sealing the edges with water.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan to about 350°F (175°C).
  • Carefully fry the sealed wontons in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  • Drain fried wontons on paper towels before serving.

Notes

Serve with shredded cabbage, chopped cilantro, and dipping sauces such as sweet chili sauce or soy sauce. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days if refrigerated.
