  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Can be store-bought or homemade; use gluten-free for a gluten-free option.
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese Cheddar, mozzarella, or spicy cheese can be used.
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion Fresh onion adds flavor.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Use fresh for better flavor.
  • 1/4 cup milk Helps to keep the meatloaf moist.
  • 1 large egg Acts as a binder.
  • to taste salt Adjust based on preference.
  • to taste pepper Adjust based on preference.
  • 1/4 cup ketchup For topping; optional Worcestershire sauce or mustard can be added.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, shredded cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, milk, egg, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  • Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a lightly greased baking dish.
  • Spread ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until the meatloaf is fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).
  • Once cooked, let the meatloaf rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Slice the meatloaf right before serving for the best presentation. Consider garnishing with fresh herbs, like parsley or chives, to elevate the dish’s appearance.
