  • 2 tablespoons fajita seasoning Essential for classic flavor
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking
  • 1 piece bell pepper, sliced Any color will work
  • 1 piece onion, sliced Yellow or red preferable
  • 4 pieces tortillas Flour or corn based on preference

Toppings

  • 1 cup pico de gallo Freshly prepared
  • 1 piece avocado Sliced or diced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream For serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Rub 2 tablespoons of fajita seasoning all over the chicken breasts.
  • Let the seasoned chicken sit at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes.

Cooking

  • Cook the seasoned chicken in the skillet for about 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  • Remove the chicken and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  • In the same skillet, sauté the sliced bell pepper and onion for about 4-5 minutes until tender.
  • Combine the sliced chicken with the sautéed vegetables in the skillet and stir until heated through.
  • Serve the mixture in warm tortillas topped with pico de gallo, avocado, and sour cream.

Notes

For best flavor, avoid overcrowding the skillet and let the chicken rest before slicing to retain juices. Customize your fajitas with additional veggies or toppings.
