  • 1 bag popcorn Ensure it’s plain popcorn without butter or seasoning.
  • 1/2 cup butter Can be substituted with margarine or coconut oil for a dairy-free option.
  • 1/4 cup butterscotch sauce Can use caramel sauce as a substitute.
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk Evaporated milk can be used for a lighter version.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • to taste whipped cream Optional topping.

Preparation

  • Pop the popcorn according to package instructions and place it in a large bowl.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until completely melted but not browned.
  • Stir in the butterscotch sauce, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  • Pour the buttery mixture over the popcorn and toss gently to coat.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving.
  • Optionally, top with whipped cream.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For best taste, serve fresh. Freezing is possible, but texture may change.
