  • 2 pieces ripe bananas Ripe bananas provide natural sweetness and moisture.
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup Sweetens the bars.
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter or almond butter Provides creaminess; can substitute with other nut butters.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances sweetness.

Optional Add-ins

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until mostly smooth.
  • Add rolled oats, honey, peanut butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt to the mashed bananas and mix until well combined.
  • If desired, fold in any optional ingredients like nuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruit.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Let cool before slicing into bars.
