  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon or sausage Can substitute with other meats or plant-based options.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust according to preference.
  • Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish) Can include chives, parsley, etc.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cut the croissants in half lengthwise and place them cut side up in a baking dish.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissants.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese and cooked bacon or sausage over the top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.

Notes

For best results, use day-old croissants and allow them to soak in the egg mixture adequately. This dish pairs well with a mimosa or coffee.
