For the French Toast

  • 4 slices slices of bread Thicker slices like brioche or sourdough are recommended for better texture.
  • 2 pieces eggs Substitute with flax eggs for a vegan option.
  • 1/2 cup milk Can be substituted with almond milk or coconut milk.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 pieces fried chicken Leftover fried chicken or rotisserie chicken can be used.
  • to taste Maple syrup Optional, for drizzling.
  • butter Butter for frying Use a generous pat.

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk until fully blended and frothy.
  • Preheat a skillet over medium heat and add a generous pat of butter to melt.
  • Take each slice of bread and dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated without soaking too long.
  • Place the coated bread slices on the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Once the French toast slices are cooked, place a piece of fried chicken between two slices to assemble your sandwich.
  • Drizzle with maple syrup and serve warm.

Notes

To store, keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. For freezing, wrap in plastic and seal in a freezer bag. Reheat in a preheated oven or skillet for best results.
