Ingredients
  

Bread Base

  • 2 slices whole grain or sourdough bread Choose whole grain for more fiber.

Toppings

  • 2 tablespoons creamy or crunchy peanut butter Natural peanut butter recommended.
  • 1 medium fresh apple Thinly sliced; Fuij or Honeycrisp work best.
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup Drizzle lightly for sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds or flaxseeds Sprinkle for added nutrition.
  • 1 pinch cinnamon Optional for extra flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Toast the bread in a toaster, oven, or skillet until crispy.
  • Spread peanut butter evenly over one side of each slice once toasted.
  • Wash and thinly slice the fresh apple, aiming for about 1/8 inch thick.
  • Layer the apple slices on top of the peanut butter.
  • Sprinkle chia or flaxseeds over the apple slices, and add a pinch of cinnamon if desired.

Notes

Serve with a cup of herbal tea or a glass of almond milk for a delightful meal.
