Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces russet potatoes (skins on) These potatoes have a high starch content, making them ideal for achieving that fluffy interior.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil This adds flavor and helps create the crispy coating.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika Regular paprika or chili powder can be used as alternatives.
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional) Sprinkle on top for a cheesy flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Scrub and cut the russet potatoes into wedges, cutting each potato in half lengthwise and then slicing each half into wedges.
  • Soak the wedges in cold water for 15-20 minutes to remove excess starch.
  • Dry the wedges thoroughly using a kitchen towel or paper towels.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, drizzle the dried wedges with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
  • Arrange the seasoned wedges in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Air fry at 400°F for 18-22 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • If desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese immediately after cooking and serve.

Notes

Serve with your favorite dipping sauces such as ketchup, ranch, or BBQ sauce. For best results, do not overcrowd the air fryer basket.
