Ingredients

For the Sandwich

  • 2 slices slices of bread (white, whole grain, or your favorite) You can use any bread you like, including sourdough or gluten-free options.
  • 2 slices slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your choice) Experiment with mozzarella, gouda, or even vegan cheeses.
  • to taste Butter or cooking spray Butter gives a rich taste and helps create a golden crust; cooking spray is a lighter option.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your Air Fryer to 370°F (190°C). This helps create an even cooking temperature.
  • Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread to ensure a crispy crust.
  • Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the air fryer basket.
  • Add the cheese slices on top of the buttered bread, then place the second slice of bread on top, butter side facing up.

Cooking

  • Air fry for about 5-7 minutes, flipping halfway through for even browning. The sandwich is done when the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Carefully remove the sandwich, let it cool for a minute, slice it, and serve.

Notes

For best results, don’t rush the preheating and evenly butter the bread. You can serve your grilled cheese with marinara or garlic butter for extra flavor. Leftover grilled cheese should be stored in an airtight container and eaten within 2-3 days.
